Development engineer - electrical storage devices BMW

We are offering an interesting position with the BMW Group as a development engineer in the area of electrical storage devices. You will be working as part of a highly motivated team on the development of new electrical storage devices for hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electrically powered vehicles. As a development engineer for storage technologies and cells you will elaborate the decision-making basis for selecting storage cells with automotive capability. You will conduct market research and set technology and cell benchmarks, as well as optimising specifications for applications in the vehicle. In collaboration with national and international development partners as well as internal departments you will examine and qualify technologies and cells. You will assess the results from an electrochemical perspective as well as from the point of view of system technology. Your assessments will define the technologies which will feed into future storage system developments.



-        Degree in chemistry, electrochemistry, physics or a comparable discipline.

-        Experience in the area of electrical storage technologies.

-        Experience in working with international suppliers.

-        Business fluent command of English (German an advantage).

-        Capacity for teamwork, communication skills.

-        Structured and analytical intellectual capabilities.

-        Initiative and commitment.


Development engineer for vehicle electrical system architecture, driving dynamics


The BMW Group is offering an interesting position in the field of driving dynamics development. As a development engineer, the vehicle electrical system architecture in various product lines will be your responsibility. You will investigate and assess architecture concepts and you will be the point of contact for vehicle electrical system architecture for all process partners inside and outside the department. The aim is to find the optimum partitioning on control units within the integrated electrical/electronic system for each driving dynamics function. You will also represent vehicle electrical system architecture on the relevant committees. Finally, you are responsible for the consistency of the vehicle data system of the suspension domain.



-        Degree in engineering or a comparable discipline.

-        Project experience.

-        Sound expertise and understanding of how integrated mechatronic systems work within the automotive environment.

-        Specialised knowledge of E/E system functions and the E/E process chain.

-        Skills in the area of suspension control systems.

-        Capacity for teamwork, communication skills.

-        Highly analytical ability and capacity for systematic thought.

-        Presentation and negotiation skills.

-        Assertive personality.
